With more time at home recently, we got around to making some small home changes that we’d had planned but just hadn’t got around to. As much we I love wooden floors, there really is nothing like stepping out in the morning on to a wool rug, so it was a big fat yes when Brintons got in touch to see if we would like to receive one of their beautiful new Agnella rugs from the new collection. Their talented designers have created a superb range with such versatility that I’d say there are more than one design to suit anyone who might be looking for a new rug.
I am a massive fan of Brintons – you may remember we carpeted our hall and stairs with their Padstow Pebble design and it is just the softest flooring as well as such a cool pattern, so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. But, what I didn’t know was that Agnella who are part of the Brintons group have been making rugs for over 40 years. So, that explains how they have honed their craft so well.
Disclosure: This is a collaborative post.
So, back to our own rug. This is the Pale Light Blue rug which comes in 5 sizes – we opted for the mid one which is 160cm x 240 cm but it starts at 80xm x 150cm and goes up to 300cm x 400cm.
The pattern itself has a classic look but with a contemporary feel. At first glance I thought it had a subtle Moroccan twist too.
While I was doing my little bit of research, I discovered that wool is one of the only genuinely sustainable materials and it was good to read that many of their rugs use undyed wool – using wool in this way is kinder to the planet, using less water and no harsh chemicals. These rugs are made with the finest New Zealand wool and you certainly can feel the good quality on your feet.
We didn’t want a strong colour on the floor as there are other deep hues in the room and so didn’t want them fighting with each other too much. This gentle blue with light grey works perfectly with the navy and the blush pink. My daughter loves it too and that of course, was the main objective.
I grabbed this picture when the sun shone through, highlighting the pattern even more.
So, that’s a little slither of what has been going on here at home. I definitely recommend checking out all the new rugs on the Brintons website and what I liked also, was a bit about the designers themselves on the collections page. It is always nice to know who is behind the inspiration behind your pieces in your home. A definite thumbs up form us with their new ranges.
If you are wondering where the wall paint colour is from – it is by Coat Paints and called Mr Clifton. The ‘ Gemini ‘ bedside tables, throw and rug are from West Elm.
You may also have noticed that I have a brand new look website with all my design services and also now courses. Do have a look around and I hope you like it.
