I’ve been thinking about posts that are both productive, happy and colourful. Today I have a selection of lovely feature wallpapers that might brighten up any room.

As we are going to be at home more currently then there’s an opportunity to re – discover my wallpapering skills that I learnt way back when I was a young actress, working as a Saturday girl in an interiors store and these skills ( hopefully ) never leave you. My design room here  at home could do with some new love so all the more reason to find some inspiration.

Obviously, as an interior designer, I constantly keep an eye on upcoming trends and love working with them. Some of these are new season and others not but they have all been selected because they’re beautiful.

I’m starting off with this absolutely stunning Tiger Grove Osborne & Little which is designed by the man who exudes bright colours, Matthew Williamson. It’s so playful and vivid with it’s intricate detail. It works very well with the painted woodwork. It comes in three panels. What do you think of it ?

I’ve been a mad fan of Designers Guild for years. Have used their textiles many times and I love the quality. This Fleur De Nuit Pale Coral is pretty breathtaking. If you are a fan of blossoming peonies then you might like it too. The shades of pink give it a real sense of warmth and balance. Like being wrapped in a lovely soft cloud. I’d love to use it in a project soon. Hopefully I will. Again this comes in panels.

Now, this hand drawn Rousseau wallpaper is one that you can study for ages. Because the closer you look, the more there is to see. I think it’s really cool and clever. It’s by Emma Shipley who has collaborated with Clarke & Clarke. I’ve been following Emma’s work over the years and love her use of colour and mythical style. This print comes in four different colours. She also produces silk scarves so if you don’t have a room that needs updating, you can wear a print around your neck !

Linwood are right up there when it comes to tropical colour combinations. This dusky pink Bamboo Garden is lovely for a room that has white accents such as flooring or doors. Although it’s a definite pattern, it is also quite subtle so would blend with other patterns and lots of plants. It’s a definite contender for here at home.

You may remember I did a Youtube tutorial using one of their fabrics from the Tango range last year.

This a very cute wall covering here by Accessorize which you can find at Wallpapers Direct. They’ve had a homeware section for a while now, with some great products and good price points. Really like the bold parrots and splashes of bright hues with the green foliage. I can see this working especially well with some dark wood and lush velvets.

This one grabbed my attention because it’s quite unique. The individually painted trailing pots are inspired by Spain’s sun soaked buildings. It’s one of my favourite things to look for when on family travels ( which we can’t wait to be doing again in the future ).  There’s nothing prettier than one of these hanging against a white washed wall. It’s by Cole & Son, called Talavera and is from their aptly named Seville collection. They have also produced some two tone wallpapers. inspired by glazed tiles and and they work brilliantly combined with the Florals.

I chose this because it’s myriad of intense colours are mesmerising. I could see this making a superb feature wall. Perfect for a room such as a study or kitchen where you are wanting inspiration. Actually, really nice for a bathroom too. It’s Flower Mask in Blue by from Graham and Brown who also make paints to co – ordinate along with cushions and wall art.

Last but definitely not least. Have you come across Mind the Gap before ? They have a pretty impressive selection. When I was young we had a paper with the same primary bolds so it has taken me back in a really lovely way.  it’s inspired by Henry Matisse, which funnily enough also reminds me of that time because my Mum was doing her art course and studying him as part of it, It’s certainly not one for the colour shy, although maybe it might turn them ! It would me. I love the overlapping shapes. This one is called Extravagancy.

They have an array of products – lampshades, furniture and an abundance of different wallpapers.
