This weeks project plans …

I have two personal sewing projects on the go this week – one is a very simple vintage style dress in either a large black and white polka dot or leopard print, for my Birthday celebrations. The other is 2 roman blinds for the kitchen in red and white gingham. We’ve lived here for 4 years now and I have only just got around to making them. A plumbers tap always drips ?

Because the third window is really wide, we had a roller blind made up in the same fabric but I can’t get out of making the other two. :) Not sure whether pom poms for the romans will be too much, but will give it a try and see.

There’s also project number 3; wooden chairs for the kitchen table that need reupholstering and painting. They are currently all colours of the rainbow, covered in tester pots. I love Designers Guilds colours, especially their bold ones. I want the colours in the room to be contrasting.

The upholstery fabric will need to work with the paint colour and the gingham blinds too – I love a bit of clashing, but don’t want to create something that will end up making us feel nauseous !

These fabric prints are really nice and kitsch, Love the map one from Fabric Rehab and the patchwork one is from Fancy Moon fabrics. Maybe though, something floral would work better.

Once all done, I will blog it ! I should also mention, that after over 2 years of blogging, there is finally a follow option for LucyLovesYa ! It’s the top right hand side of my home page. If you’d like to ready my updates – please do add your email.

Hope you’re having a nice week so far, what are you up to ?

Please share the love by clicking on the links below xx
