When dreaming up a cool but practical room for a ( not far off ) teenager there is one thing that springs to my mind more than anything else and that’s a really good desk that transitions from school years to beyond and will help see you or your child through some very long hours. I know my own desk has been invaluable and just having your own space makes such a difference.
School tests have crept up on us and studying at the kitchen table doesn’t cut the mustard anymore.
We are about to embark on quite a change with swapping rooms about upstairs and new colours. wallpapers and colour walls coming in .. you name it. Well, that’s where we’re at currently here at Chez Lucy Loves Ya.
I’ve had a really good look at some of my favourite stores and come up with what I think are some of the best desks for a bedroom that wants to be fun still but will work with everything else going on around. here are loads of designs and styles so I had to hone it down to a particular look and that would be ‘ Scandi ‘ for Mae’s bedroom.
A minimal room would really suit the desk above by interiors concept store Future and Found. A few shelves overhead and all sorted. I’m quite a fan of the shop and love their instagram too.
Okay, so this one with rainbow colour compartments isn’t cheap but my goodness I love everything about it.
A really sought after design by Vitra. It’s from Nest.co.uk and is made with chrome, laminate, wood veneer and plastic.
I will put it on my ever expanding wish list.
You might remember my post bout G Plan and why I appreciate them so much. Their furniture is still well made now but their vintage furniture has stood the test of time both aesthetically and with it’s well made quality frame.
Big roomy drawers with this and you just know it’ll look after you if you look after it.
Good ol’ Etsy always has a good selection of mid century pieces.
I love the Scandi shape with a Japanese twist. This is possibly my favourite style out of the ten.
It’s a sure talking piece and easy to slot in to a busy room. Particularly the streamlines legs on it. What do you think of it ?
It’s from Miliboo.
Tables with hairpin legs are really popular at the moment. Clean lines and a nice big workspace.
These are really handy if you want to put some storage underneath or need extra leg room.
Another Etsy find. There are different choices of leg colours.
Who knew there are so many Nordic desks out there ? The West Elm piece is amazing very classic. Which us your favourite ?
You can’t really go wrong with any of these designs. Just got to pick one … first world problems eh ? :)
Are there any here that you would go for ?
