We ferried it over to Calais then drove to Boulogne to stay nearby at Hotel Chateau Clery. A beautiful building inside and out, set in stunning grounds with friendly accommodating staff. I took some interior pics but my camera packed up on me and when I got it working again – they’d disappeared !
Two night on and many attempts at communicating with the lovely people ( learning to speak more French is now high up the to do list ) we headed back to Blighty and on to Brighton.
I have written about good ol’ Brighton before because we used to live there – I love the place and miss it. Personally, I find an abundance of inspiration each time we go and if we could right now – we’d move back.
There was an extra special reason for this visit ( update in a few days once the cling film is off … hint hint ) but apart from this we did our usual on the Pier action even though it was pouring and of course, wandered The Lanes. I acquired some more cool prints from Ditto Fabrics ( had to keep my blinkers on in there ) the floral one was chosen by elder daughter for her next project! Also spotted a few kitsch bits too from some great little independent shops. I got the shopper in a Bet Lynch version as well for my Mum. :)
